Team India’s new plan for the t20i world cup.

Hello everyone

In today’s blog we talk about the recent change that has taken place in Team India’s T20 team.Yes most of you might be surprised seeing that Team India in the last few t20 series has not gone with its full strength side.Bumrah, Bhuvi,Kohli, Hardik,Jadeja have missed few series.Well there is an agenda behind it.Today we ll discuss about few of them.

Ok so the first one out of them is managing work load.Players like Bumrah,Kohli,Hardik play all 3 formats and its important to manage their workload.Keeping them fit is very important and hence Team Management can’t put more weight on single players, hence timely rest has to be given to them.

Thinking about the future is another important thing. We can see team Management is testing all young talents like Washington Sundar,Rishab Pant,Navdeep Saini, Mayank Markande,Rahul Chahar,Deepak Chahar etc . Opportunities are been given to these players now itself so that they get used to the conditions and pressure while playing in the big stage, team Management is also trying to find substitutes for every player. For example Hardik Pandya can be replaced by Shivam Dubey or Krunal Pandya or Washington Sundar or Ravindra Jadeja or by 2 all rounders together which brings in stability to the side.

More importantly Team Management is experimenting certain players at certain positions to see how they perform.Players like Rishab Pant,Shreyas Iyer have been tried and tested for the no 4 and no 5 slots, since this particular slot has been a headache for the last few years.Team Management is trying to sought it out by giving continuous opportunities.

Being ready for transition is another thing. You never know when which player gets injured or gets out of form and hence on that day another equally capable tried and tested player should be ready to replace him.

Another reason what i feel is that Team India is trying to copy the brand of cricket of Team England.Well England plays Fearless brand of cricket and they bat really deep.Same thing was tried by Team India too in the recently concluded few series where we saw that we had batsmans to bat till no 7 or no 8 and almost 7 bowlers to bowl,in one match we saw around 4 wicket keepers it was when MSD, Dinesh Karthik,KL Rahul, Rishab Pant all played in the same match.

So these are some of the reasons why Team Management is trying to play around with the T20i side, chopping and shuffling work is going on and might continue for long till the World Cup.

What can we expect from the test series?

Hello everyone

In today’s blog we talk about the upcoming test series between India and Bangladesh. After the end of t20i series its time for the longer format series. It ll be a 2 match test series and unlike the t20i series here the Indian Team has gone for a full strength side.T20i series was more about experimenting keeping the t20 world cup in mind but then test series gets even more important because of the World Test Championship.

As said Team India is going in with a full strength side,We ll see the likes of Virat Kohli, Mayank Agarwal,Cheteshwar Pujara,Ajinkya Rahane,Ravindra Jadeja etc again. It ll be important to see if the bowling department will continue with its good form or not. Eyes will once again be ok openers, skipper and vice captain. As they form the core of the Team.It ll be interesting to see if young Shubman Gill will get chance or not.But then in place of whom is the big question.

Well eyes will be on our bowlers like Shami,Ishant, Umesh,Ashwin and Jadeja.Bangladesh are entering this series after a t20i series loss. They will miss services of Shakib and Tamim. They have a new captain in form of Mominul Haque and eyes will be on players like Mehedi Hassan, Mushfiqar Rahim, Mustafizur Rehman etc who have played before in India and have done well too.It ll be interesting to see how the new captain leads the side.

Other than this not much to speak about the series, might turn into a one sided series with India in the driver seat but then it’s cricket and anything is possible.2nd test match to be played in Kolkata will be a pink ball test which is a Day Night test match. This series is getting all the attention because of this pink ball test which is happening for the first time in India and is the first day/night test match for both the sides.

It’ll be interesting to see how much of crowd will gather, how the pink ball will behave, How players react to it, What new things we can see etc.Hence its an historical test series for both the teams. No 1 ranked team vs No 9 ranked team.Sounds less interesting but its not like how it sounds.Bangladesh has always troubled India and they will come all guns blazing with nothing to loose.

Formidable Team India wins the t20i series.

Hello everyone

Hello everyone in today’s blog we talk about Team India’s series Victory over Bangaldesh.Yes after an initial hiccup in Delhi Team India has managed to come back strong in the series and has won it by a margin of 2-1.They lost the first match in Delhi but won the next two to lift the trophy.

Well ive already discussed about the loss in the first t20i in my previous blog.So here we’ll concentrate mainly on the 2nd and 3rd t20i held at Rajkot and Nagpur.Best thing is that every single match had different heroes.Rohit and Chahal gave extraordinary performance to win the second one quiet comfortably, and then in the last t20i it was a combination of KL Rahul,Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dubey and Deepak Chahar’s performance which enusred that Team India grabs the series.

So first we ll talk about 2nd Bangladesh batted first and were looking good marching towards a good score but then Yuzi Chahal came to the rescue of Team India and helped restrict Bangladesh below 155.Well talking about the chase it was more like a walk on the beach as RO-HITMAN completely dominated the bowling line of Bangaldesh handing Team India an easy victory.

The series decider was played at Nagpur and India were made to bat first but then the pitch looked slow and both openers fell cheaply. Then KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer joined to set a stage as both went on hammering the bowlers. Both lost theri wickets eventually and then the final finishing touch was given by Manish Pandey. As the Bowlers started it looked tough to defend because of the due but then Deepak Chahar came up with excellent figures of 6 wickets for just 8 runs, which even includes a hatrick. This was first hatrick for an Indian in t20i’s.Even Shivam Dubey chipped in with 3 timely wickets. That too big ones like Mushfiqar Rahim amd of Naeem Islam who looked good.

Well end of another good series for Team India.Biggest positive out of this series is Deepak Chahar, for the way he bowled throughout the series.Chahal was terrific as well.Well there are certain issues still to be solved with Shikhar Dhawan underperforming,Rishan pant continuing his silly mistakes,Krunal Pandya didn’t reach upto the expectation, Khaleel Ahmed was disappointing.Hence this series had shown Team India on where they have to improve as a Team.Remember this is not Team India’s fulk fledged side, many players are missing including the skipper. This is more like a audition for the t20 world cup in Australia.Good seried for Team India they have found a few positives, Shivam Dubey is one of them as well for the way he bowled in the last match. But there are bigger problems still left and one of them is Rishab Pant, its too early to talk about him as he is still young but then whole country has got its eyes on him and he has to perform to book his ticket to Australia.

Well now the concentration is towards the 2 match test series with the second one being a Day/Night test.Yes sounds interesting and we ll have to wait and watch how it goes.

Vijay Hazare trophy champs Team Karnataka.

Hello Everyone

In today’s blog we talk about champs of recently concluded Vijay Hazare trophy that is Team Karnataka.

Well at the beginning of the tournament it was Team Mumbai who started as defending champions on the other end there was team Tamil Nadu who have won Vijay Hazare trophy 4 times in the past. These 2 teams were the favorites ofcourse. But then Karnataka was not far behind even Karnataka had won Vijay Hazare trophy 3 times in the past and had a good side with likes of KL Rahul,Manish Pandey and Mayank Agarwal returning to the side.

First match against Hyderabad was called off due to rain.Next up they won against Jharkand,Kerala,Chattisgarh,Andhra Pradesh,Mumbai,Saurashtra,Goa,Puducherry, once again Chattisgarh in the semis and then Tamil Nadu in the finals to lift the trophy.Match against Mumbai was a nail biter with Shivam Dubey showing his class but wickets at the death overs ensured Karnataka a victory.Talking about the finals Tamil Nadu was unbeaten throughout the tournament they topped the rank list too but then when it mattered the most it was Karnataka who had the upper hand.Team Tamil Nadu had good players like Dinesh Karthik, Washington Sundar, Murali Vijay,R Ashwin etc.For Karnataka it was captain Manish Pandey who led from the front with good support coming from KL Rahul,Devdutt Padikkal the 2 openers.Mayank Agarwal was not too far behind either. In the bowling department Abhimanyu Mithun ended up taking a hatrick in the final match and pulled the match towards his team and then came a good batting performance by Team India lads Rahul and Mayank before the match was interrupted by rain.Karnataka was well far ahead of the DL par score. There were contributions from other players too like Jagadidh Suchith,Ronit more,Prasidh Krishna,Prateek Jain,Pawan Deshpande,Krishnappa Gowtham etc.

Efforts of all these players helped Karnataka lift the Vijay Hazare trophy.Karnataka has now won Vijay Hazare trophy 4 times hence equalling Tamil Nadu’s trophy count. It was a formidable side mainly because of big heads like KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Manish Pandey returning to the side.Their experience really helped the team a lot.Young Devdutt Padikkal continued his good form and he was actually the top scorer of tournament with 609 runs. Its a really good phase for Team Karnataka as all players are playing really well, few are eager to make a mark in the side wheress other few are trying to get back into the National Team.Post Vijay Hazare trophy Karnataka has already started playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy but then players like KL Rahul,Manish Pandey are unavailable because they are playing for Team India in the t20i series against Bangaldesh and hence they might well return to Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy after the series ends. But then a very good phase for Team Karnataka they won 15 matches in a row before they could loose to Baroda in the 2nd match of Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. Its a record for 2nd highest consequtive victories.

Credits goes to the players, coach, support staff, selectors etc. Before I wind up Congratulations to Team Karnataka. They have made us proud. Now they concentrate on Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy which is purely a t20 tournament.Out of 2 matches Karnataka has got 1 win and a loss against Baroda.Things will get better once the national side players return to the side.

Reasons for Team India’s loss against Bangaldesh in the first t20i.

Hello everyone

In today’s blog we talk about first match of new series between India and Bangaldesh.Well as we all know a series between India and Bangladesh is in process with one t20 match done its the Bangla tigers who are leading.Bangladesh won the first match quiet comprehensively by 7 wickets with a few balls to yes it an comprehensive victory as the bangla tigers performed really well.On the other side a lot was expected by the young Indian side but they failed.

So now let us discuss about the reasons for Indian Team’s failure. So what went wrong?Ok so first things first the toss.On a slow and sticky kotla pitch it was important to win the toss and bowl first. As the pitch was sticky shot hitting was a bit difficult.Timing the ball was an issue for the Indian batters.Likes of Rishab Pant, Shikhar Dhawan struggled to time the ball.Batters like KLR,Shreyas Iyer looked good but were undone with the slowness off the pitch. So loosing the toss did hurt them badly, although the batters could have applied themselves in a better manner but they failed to do so.

Another thing we need to mention is that the bowling was not up to the mark.Yes they are missing services of Bhuvi and Bumrah. But a lot was expected from Khaleel,Chahar and others.Unfortunately they couldn’t deliver. With Khaleel going for 4 boundaries in the game changing Deepak Chahar started well though in the powerplay along side Washington Sundar but eventually even they were taken for runs.

Krunal Pandya committed a bigger blunder by dropping an easy catch. That well could have been game set and match but then he dropped a dolly that too a catch of Rahim who eventually changed the game with 4 boundaries.Other than that an umpire decision was wrong but India decided not to review. Taking DRS thers would have meant end of Soumya Sarkars innings.

Other than this we got to give credits to Bangaldesh players too. They played really well.It was a total team performance. We need to remember that Big heads like Shakib and Tamim were unavailable yet they performed so so well. They Deserved to win.

Talking about Team India maybe one bad day where things didn’t click well and we can believe that they will bounce back strong. One thing is for sure that this series is going to be an interesting one.

Rohit Sharma the Test Cricketer.

Hello everyone

In today’s blog we are going to talk about Team India’s superstar cricketer Rohit Sharma’s test cricket career.Well as we all know Rohit Sharma has been drafted in as an opener in the test format too now on the basis of his top notch record as a limted format cricket opener. But then is this the right decision taken by the Management…? Yes we are going to discuss about it in this blog.

Ok so first things first lets talk about Hitman’s stats as a test cricketer. In 30 matches he has got 2114runs with an impressive average of 48.His highest score is 212 which came in the recently concluded series against South Africa. One thing we need to notice is that major part of his test career he has batted in the middle order and most of the matches have been played in Subcontinent conditions. So now he has been promoted upwards as an opener which was obvious with the likes of KL Rahul,Shikhar Dhawan, Murali Vijay failing to make an impact. But we also should remember that these 3 players had to bat in tough conditions overseas.Someone like KL Rahul had to open the innings in testing conditions against some tough bowling sides.Ofcourse opening innings in England, Australia and South Africa is always a challenge and likes of KLR, Vijay and Dhawan had to face this.Unfortunately these star cricketers couldn’t make justice for the opportunity given and eventually they were dropped from the side.So now management was in search of a good opening batsman.Remember young Prithvi Shaw wasn’t taken into consideration because of his ban.So now management had to look at limited overs format vice captain Rohit Sharma.

Well talking about the promotion so far we have had a mini sample of 3 matches against an inexperienced South African side and Rohit Sharma proved his worth. He scored three centuries in the home series against South Africa including 176 and 127 in the first match, and a career-highest score of 212 in the third match.Well credits to RO-HITMAN for the way hw played. He totally dominated the opposition bowling attack. The scores mentioned above are not just big innings but they came at a good strike rate too.

But then this series was played in Home conditions to which every Indian player is used to.No doubts Rohit can hit big if matches are played back home. But then if there are overseas series. If matches are to be played in SENA countries then thats where Rohit Sharma is going to be really tested. We all are aware about Rohits weakness at the beginning of the innings. He tends to knick balls outside off and is lazy at his approach sometimes.Usually SENA country picthes give a tough time to openers like in the case of KLR,Vijay and Dhawan.Overseas pitches are really going to test Hitman as a opener as well as a test cricketer. No doubts about his capacity but then history says that he struggles against seam and swinging conditions. In India what we saw was good batting picthes except in one of his innings where he really applied himself throughout the innings but then other than that good batting picthes were provided and Rohit made the most of it.But then we can’t assure that the same will happen when he bats overseas too because the conditions are favourable to the bowlers rather than the batsmans and this will be a real test for Rohit Sharma since he struggles against Seam and Swinging balls.Well decision of bringing Hitman as an opener is impressive and he has had a great start but then for how long this continues and how he ll perform overseas is a question..He has already proved himself in home conditions only thing to worry is about how he will bat overseas under tough batting conditions.Well for home conditions yes Hitman is the man but then for overseas conditions we need to wait and watch. We will soon get our amswes since India has got a series scheduled against Australia and New Zealand in their land. This one will be a important series not just for Team India but even for Rohit the test Cricketer.

India vs Bangladesh…. What can we expect from this series..?

Hello everyone

In today’s blog ill be talking about tge upcoming India vs Bangaldesh series.

Its a short series with 3 t20s and 2 test matches. As per reports the test match at eden gardens is going to be a day night match. It ll be Team India’s first ever day night test match.Well its a historical day for Indian Cricket. This step is been purely initiated by Sourav Ganguly and others. And anyways coming back to the series we have got lots of expectations from this series. We wish to see the old players doing well and the new ones setting there name.

Even before the series could start Bangladesh already has got a huge setback. There trump card Shakib Al Hasan is out of this series following his ban of 2 years. This is a huge blow for Bangladesh. In past few years Shakib without doubt was their best player.Anyways Mahmudullah Riyadh is going to lead the side in the t20s where as Mominul Haque is the test skipper.Without doubts Bangladesh is a very talented side they have got young guns roaring but with lack of maturity and consistency. There are few players like Rahim,Mustafizur etc who have done extremely well against India. The other few people to watch out arr Soumya Sarkar, Mohammed Mithun,Mosaddek Hussain etc. This are few of the Bangladeshi players on whom we got to keep our eyes on.

So now talking about Indian squad.Virat Kohli has been rested and Rohit sharma will lead the side in t20s.Selectors have tried new players this time. One noticeable name among them is Shivam Dubey. In the absence of Hardik big hitting Pandya,it will be dubey’s responsibility to play the role of all-rounder and finisher.Dubey has performed extremely well in the recently concluded Vijay Hazard trophy which included a ton against Karnataka.Sanju Samson too has got a call back,he is back into the spot and he will be eager to get some match time.Well other then these 2 there are players who have been tried before like khaleel,KL Rahul,Rishab Pant,Krunal Pandya who have been part of t20 set up before too.Manish Pandey has earned his spot back due to his great performance in the Vijay Hazare trophy as a skipper.Bowling line up lacks experience but then we all know that selectors are experimenting. No bumrah, bhuvi etc in the bowling line up.Although chahal is back to the squad after missing the proteas series

Talking about test series there is not much of difference in the squad.India has decided to go in with same squad which they played against South Africa,we ll have to wait and watch to see if Shubman Gill will get a go.Other than that nothing new in the test squad.Although Bangladesh got some new names to test.

Well talking about the result of the series,I feek it’ll be more dominated by Team India as Bangladesh will miss there trump cards like shakib and Tamim. We can well expect a clean sweap with Team India. But then its cricket you never know what can happen.
